2025 Gifting Guide
Finding the perfect gift for a whiskey lover can feel impossible, especially when they seem to have everything. But here’s the good news: it’s actually easier than you think. Tracking down bottles they don’t already own? That’s a challenge. So instead, I’ve put together a list of tried-and-true whiskey essentials that any enthusiast would be thrilled to receive (or stock up on!).

Glassware
Glassware is one of those essentials of whiskey drinkers. I find myself exploring glassware styles and designs all of the time. I love getting something new to try my favorite pour in!
A glen (glencairn glass) is one of the most widely accepted "perfect" glasses. The rounded shape helps direct aroma to your nose without overpowering it from the ethanol. Why colored? Not a lot of people have them yet, but they're very useful for blind tastings where you don't want the color of a whiskey to influence a comparison pour!
What is better than receiving a new glen? SIX. Breaking a glass is inevitable. It may not happen often, but it will happen eventually. Having backups is essential. And this pack comes in a nice cardboard box perfect for throwing in a backpack to haul to your next whiskey share.
Call it science, but drinking a pour out of a snifter makes the pour 3x more expensive/fancy. Ancient Age immediately becomes Blanton's, and Russell's 10yr immediately becomes Russell's 15yr. I can't explain it, it's just how it is.
Before the glencairn, there was the ever classic copita. Although it doesn't have the curves of a glen or snifter, the tulip shape is still lauded as a winner for whiskey or tequila drinking. What I like about the copita, is that it has a really nice feel in the hand and is much sturdier than a snifter. It's the elevated feel without the breakage
Storage/Samples
Whiskey is for sharing and community. As part of that, every whiskey lover needs ways to easily share with other people. Here are some of my favorites!
The absolute leader in the sample bottle space. With a wider neck, these are easy to pour into. And with a premium look, comes a premium bottle. The seal on the caps are much better than normal Amazon sample bottles, and the glass is thick and prone to survive falls.
This is the nicest form of transportation for glens that you can get. Not only is it a great carrier, but you can leave this as is on your shelf and it won't look left out.
Oxidation is real, and not a friend of whiskey. If you have a bottle you love and return to on special occasions, you'll notice that it will start to change as it gets lower in the bottle. Putting the end of the bottle into a 200ml glass will help prolong how long the whiskey will maintain it's original flavor.
I love this label printer. It has an app and makes it super easy to save templates and whip out labels to throw on bottles. Can't recommend this one enough.
These are just clutch. If you want an easy way to store your glassware without knocking into them, this is it.
Accessories
There's always something new or fun to try out and help elevate your whiskey game.
This is the perfect wax cutting knife. It's always on your person, and it cuts into wax like butter. Whether you're breaking into Rare Character or River Roots, this bad boy has never failed me. I always recommend this little guy.
Pure science stuff here, but I believe in it. You down one of these before a night where you know you'll be drinking a lot, and it helps keep you from feeling like a sloth the next morning. I have used these before whiskey shares, and always feel ready to go the next day. They have my vote.
This is by far the best flask I've ever owned or tried. And trust me, I have had a lot of flasks along my whiskey/outdoors journey. The glass prevents any influence onto the whiskey itself, and the leather wrap and thick glass make this a durable beast. Couple that with it coming with a metal free option cap... And it opens up even more possibilities.
Barrel Mill is a barrel cooperage that is always looking to push boundaries. As part of that, they made these in bottle spirals so that consumers could experiment in their homes. They come in a variety of oak types for even more eperimentation.
I have definitely mentioned it in the past, but oxidation is very real and very much the enemy of whiskey. There have been times where I've poured a nice glass, and then been told we're heading out the door. Toppers have saved both myself and the pour in my glass. Definitely an essential accessory.
2025 Holiday Releases
This year we have started to see some great holiday releases across the country, and some of them ship right to your door! I've gathered ones that I know will be awesome.
At 100 proof, this is a very accessible pour for any whiskey drinker. These Christmas blends are consistently one of my favorite Taconic releases, and 2025 has my favorite looking label to date.
Minturn's Colorado peated whiskey is very fruit forward and the smoke from the peat is much more subtle. I'm really looking forward to this one, and the label is just a really classy Christmas style.
