MSRP: $175
Mash: 100% Maine rye
Proof: 100 Age: 8 Years
Nose: creamy sweet mint with a hint of menthol, a damp cedar forest, honeysuckle
Palate: the nose follows through to the palate beautifully and layers in some more complexity, the cedar forest is in full effect, you can taste the moss and soil, the sweetness is amplified to an almost mint simple syrup, all while that creaminess is ever present
Finish: medium to long finish of creamy menthol with an almost peppery kick at the end, much more full finish than you'd expect from a bottled in bond whiskey
Rating: Hoard it (Out of Hoard, Buy, Try, Pass)
Thoughts: This is the one. The three Sisters rye is special and wonderful, but expensive. This bottled in bond rye is the the perfect balance of value and flavor and showcases what Tamworth is capable of. I love this so much. That creamy mouthfeel is unlike anything I've had before. Its like a minty cold foam with a cooling menthol effect. It's unique, it's powerful, it's just excellent. I'm going to have to get another bottle.
