2026 has brought a flood of 250th Anniversary releases from distilleries and producers across the United States. From bourbon and rye to American single malt, brandy, and beyond, I've done my best to gather them all in one place. I'll also be reviewing as many as I can along the way. Cheers!
Angel's Envy: America's 250th Anniversary Single Barrel

What Makes it Special: Twenty master distiller selection single barrels, each with special 250th Anniversary labeling, engraving, and hangtag. Be aware, there are also specially engraved bottles for the 250th anniversary, and they are just that. Standard Angel's Envy with custom engraving.
Boston Harbor Distillery: America's 250th American Single Malt Whiskey

What Makes it Special: One of the oldest releases from Boston Harbor Distillery, and aged in ex-rum, it was released in collaboration with Whiskey Mentors (a local Boston marketing consulting company for whiskey).

What Makes it Special: This is a very small release of only 1,776 bottles. Bulleit decided to come out the gate swinging with something truly epic, and to make a statement that the name Bulleit can be ultra premium as well. Blended by master blender Nicole Austin, this is a rye for the history books.

What Makes it Special: $1 from every bottle sold goes to support Arcadia Center, a nonprofit helping veterans. But what really makes this special is that it is an affordable rye with a great finish. Copper & Cask has great stocks of whiskey that they're constantly experimenting with in their warehouse in Rhode Island. Taking a well aged MGP rye and finishing it in rum is one of those just classic finishes. Unlike some more well known rum finished ryes like Angel's Envy, this allows the rye to shine forward with the rum as something that adds to the experience, and doesn't overtake it.

What Makes it Special: $1 from every bottle sold goes to support Arcadia Center, a nonprofit helping veterans. Wave that flag is a clever name to use for finishing a bourbon with wave staves. If you're not familiar with wave staves, they are a type of barrel stave that have grooves cut into the stave itself to allow for further surface area that the liquid can come into contact with. In my limited experience with wave staves, they tend to produce a very sweet and tropical fruit forward effect on the whiskey itself. After drinking this bottle, it is no different. If you enjoy fruit forward and sweet pours, this is definitely a bottle for you.
Heaven Hill: Rittehouse 10 Year Rye Bottled in Bond

What Makes it Special: This is the first double digit age statement from Rittehouse Rye since the legendary 21, 23, and 25 year old releases from the early 2000s. Hopefully this won't be the last time we see high age statements coming from the Rittehouse line.
Horse Soldier: Liberty Edition

What Makes it Special: They used a bespoke French bottling as a call back to the Statue of Liberty, and will donate an undisclosed amount to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island foundation with the release of this bottle. It is one of the oldest releases by Horse Soldier to date, and the packaging is top tier. But beyond that the price makes this a very tricky release.
Lost Lantern: United States of Bourbon: 1776

What Makes it Special: A self-proclaimed one time only release, the 1776 release blends bourbon from the original 13 colonies of the United States of America. Like the other United States of Bourbon releases, this ambitious project has never been done before. The trickiest part of this release, is that the New England distilleries are not as established as some of the other craft distilleries across the United States.

What Makes it Special: There is nothing else like this on the market. Taking straight bourbon from different distilleries across all fifty states and blending them together is an absolutely insane task. Making it a blend that actually works? That's an even more insane task. But somehow, they pulled it off and this just works. Dive into the review to learn more.
Maker's Mark: 250th Anniversary Wax

What Makes it Special: Outside of the special wax dip, a portion of proceeds benefits the Farmer Veteran Coalition. You can make the bottle even more unique by heading to the Maker's Mark website and getting a 250th Anniversary label with your name on it, for free, while supplies last. The liquid is the same as standard Maker's Mark.

What Makes it Special: This is Colorado's oldest bottled in bond to date. To celebrate both America's 250th Anniversary and Colorado's 150th Anniversary, the oldest legal distillery in CO want to do something special. Adorned in gorgeous packaging, they knocked this one out of the park.
